A hungry German teenager caused thousands of dollars in damages to a McDonald’s restaurant after he tried to use the drive-thru on a tractor. Benji Bauer had borrowed the tractor, equipped with a plough on the front and back, from a farm where he worked to drive to the restaurant to get something to eat, the Romanian Times reports.
The 17-year-old told police he thought the Velbert fast food joint’s drive-thru would accommodate the 12-ton vehicle.
However, when he attempted to go up to the window, he knocked over garbage bins, signs and demolished area plantings. Once he realized what he had done, he tried to drive off.
Police caught up with the teenager and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident.
He also faces a $4,700 fine for damages.
